How to Eat Miracle Fruit
Okay, so you wanna throw a miracle fruit/flavor tripping party and be cool, right? Right! First, you've gotta obtain some miracle fruit. To do that, Get the Goods from a Reliable Source!
Once it's arrived safely in your mail box (yippee!), you need to know how to let your fellow miracle fruit tasters/flavor trippers know how to consume it before the fun can begin. If you decided to be conservative and consume a miracle fruit tablet, just let it dissolve on or under your tongue (don't bite & chew or it won't be effective!). Let the tablet melt in your mouth. Swish it around a little. Let it dissolve and then immediately after you can eat that lemon with furor!
If you're eating the real miracle berry/fruit, there are some steps you'll want to make sure you follow:
Before putting the miracle fruit in your mouth, cleanse your palate with some water (luke warm or cold - whatever tickles your proverbial pickle)!
The miracle fruit needs to coat your mouth in order to have an effect, so don't just quickly swallow it down. You should hold it in your mouth and swoosh it around for a little bit. Then, bite into it and make sure the sweet juices coat the inside of you mouth.
Don't eat the pit. Take it from me, it's nasty! Some frequently asked questions:
What Does Miracle Fruit Taste Like?
The surprising (at least to me) thing about eating miracle fruit is that it tastes really good. It's a tangy berry that tastes sort of like a sweetened cranberry.
Does the Miracle Fruit Take Effect Immediately?
Wait 2-5 minutes for the full effect of the miracle berry to take hold of your tongue and titillate your taste buds. Then you can dig into those lemons and pour that tobasco sauce on your tongue. Or just drink lots of beer like some of us do. ;)

Flavor Tripping Party!
Save the date, mark your calendars, have a nap that afternoon, put on your party dress - just be there and be ready to titillate your taste buds like you've never done before! June 13, 2009 @ 7 pm we will embark on our first official Flavor Tripping Party!
Upon entering the swanky condo with a beautiful view of the city of Toronto, guests will be given their first miracle fruit of the night. You'll be able to choose between a tablet or the fresh berry itself. It's like drugs for your tongue, but totally legal and safe! Whilst consuming the miracle fruit or tablet, you'll taste the succulent sweetness before preparing to sample some of the most sour & bitter foods known to mankind. We've decided to sample some foods that we already know are sweet, such as cupcakes and strawberries, to see if those with even the sweetest tooth can handle the sweetness that will no doubt take over their senses.
Items found on the menu will include but are not limited to:
- brussel sprouts
- lemons & limes
- tequila (the cheapest bottle we could find that was purchased at a Wal-Mart in Mexico - we've heard miracle fruit makes it taste like Patron!)
- mojitos
- dark beer
- vinegar (no, I'm not kidding)
- some kind of sour Iranian food that most North Americans don't like and I don't know how to spell
- pickles
- olives
- WHATEVER YOU BRING!

This just in...
The Miracle Berry Tasting Party will be taking place at Mello's swag new condo in the heart of Downtown Toronto. Floor to ceiling windows will ensure we have an awesome view of the city as we sample usually putrid, sometimes bitter foods with our miracle berries.
If you haven't already received an invitation to the party and feel you may have been excluded, don't stress! We haven't yet selected a date. Details to be posted this weekend...
Stay tuned!

Miracle Berry Karaoke: May 2009
What Miracle Berry party would be complete without a little karaoke? In order to celebrate two very special birthdays this month, a party was thrown in the birthday girls' honor in a home off the Danforth in lively (lovely, even? At least in the spring) Toronto!
Three brave ladies sampled a miracle berry tablet (remember, some were still tentative about the safety - it's totally natural AND safe!). The result? We ran out of beer within an hour. Something about this miraculous fruit makes beer consumption taste like you're drinking Koolaid - brings back memories of childhood (only this time it makes for blurry memories). Our next experiment with mixing the miracle fruit with the nector of the gods (read: alcohol) will involve mojitos, which we are told taste divine.
Caution: eating a miracle berry tablet guarantees that you will eat more than your share of cake, pistachio nuts and 5 day old pizza from the back from of the fridge. Just ask Emma.
Game Night w/ Miracle Berries: March 2009
In March 2009, Mello hosted a Games Night at her lush sublet in The Beaches neighborhood here in Toronto. The guest list included a group of women in their mid-20's to mid-30's. The group was a unique mix of overworked and underpaid articling future lawyers, a recent university graduate with a degree in marketing who now works in an office overrun by cats, a Costco optometry specialist, an under-appreciated teacher, someone who says she's a consultant but spends most of her time shopping online and winning at the casinos (hmmm...) and even a library technician who dances and sings for toddlers.
What unified all of these women was their love of board games coupled with their curiosity to test out "Miracle Berry" tablets. Now for those of you who haven't a clue about what a miracle berry is, I suggest you go here for a quick overview: Miracle Fruit
At our Games Night, only a couple of brave souls (Lindsay & Sarah) had the guts to try out these Miracle Berry tablets. As evidenced in the photos, the miracle berries did indeed work. Sarah was caught sneaking into the kitchen to snarf down an entire lemon like it was candy! Lindsay happily posed for a photo opportunity while sucking on some sweet, sweet lemon juice. Afterwards she drank a couple (okay, a few) beers that she proclaimed tasted like "sugar water" at least 5 times throughout the course of the evening.
Mello and Lindsay recently had the blessing to stumble upon a fantastic miracle fruit company by way of Twitter when Lindsay tweeted: "When life gives you lemons, remember there are miracle berries that can make them taste like sugar." This company noticed her tweet and got in touch. They're interested in our parties. Good thing, because we have a lot of them.
